Because of the tensions between India and Pakistan, the PCB has decided to move the remaining PSL 2025 matches. Following concerns from international players, the PCB has decided to shift the remaining games, including the playoffs and final, to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Due to Indian military strikes, the PCB postponed the Karachi Kings vs. Peshawar Zalmi game in Rawalpindi on Thursday.
English players competing in the PSL 2025 were reportedly considering withdrawing from the competition because of security concerns, according to claims from British media.
The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium attack amidst tensions with India led to the PCB relocating PSL 2025
Recently, during the drone attack by Indian armed forces, a part of the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was hit and damaged. It had happened a few hours before a Karachi Kings match with Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing IPL 2025.
Since the war with India has escalated, the PCB has decided to move the PSL 2025 to the United Arab Emirates. The tournament, which had been set to conclude in Pakistan with its final eight matches, will now be completed abroad.
The playoffs and the final four league games were initially scheduled for Rawalpindi, Multan, and Lahore. The PCB confirmed the move in a statement, although it has not yet disclosed the updated dates and locations, which should be revealed shortly.

Mohsin Naqvi confirms relocation of PSL 2025; says foreign players’ concerns heard
According to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the tournament's remaining matches will now take place in the United Arab Emirates because of persistent tensions. Naqvi claimed that the action is intended to safeguard both domestic and foreign participants, referring to them as "precious guests."
“However, in view of the extremely irresponsible and dangerous Indian act of targeting the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, which was manifestly done to disrupt the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League X, the PCB has decided to shift the remaining matches to the UAE so that the domestic as well as foreign cricketers, who are our precious guests, can be saved from the possible reckless targeting by India,” Naqvi said in a statement.
The decision to move the remaining games was made with the players' mental health in mind, according to Mohsin Naqvi.
“As a responsible organization that has overcome adversities repeatedly and ensured that the game of cricket flourishes, it was important for us to ensure the mental well-being of all players participating in the HBL PSL. I regret that our domestic audience and cricket lovers will not be able to watch these matches in Pakistan’s stadiums.
Like in the past, we hope that our stakeholders will rally with us to further the best interests of the tournament, our players, and the fans. We are committed to ensuring that the league continues to thrive!” he concluded.
UAE has been a cricket-friendly venue
Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium hosted the PSL's first season in 2016.
After initial hosting arrangements were derailed by disputes between the cricket boards of India and Pakistan, Dubai served as a co-host for the ICC Champions Trophy earlier in 2025.
