When the players and the management fly back home, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) will look back at the games they had in their grasp during IPL 2025. However, they failed to close out the fixtures on many occasions, which saw them finish in the ninth position among ten franchises.

Rajasthan could have easily replaced one of the top four sides in the playoffs if they showed a little stability in the middle order. They lacked power and consistency from the batters.

A few other teams, the inaugural champions, struggled in the leadership department. Sanju Samson, due to his injury, couldn’t captain the side in the first few games and contributed only as an impact sub. However, he was out of the campaign for several games in the middle of the season.

The Rajasthan Royals, who gained two wins in the first four encounters, earned eight losses in the next nine encounters. Most of these losses came in the last over of the innings.

Rajasthan Royals Squad for IPL 2025

Rajasthan Royals’ positives in the IPL 2025

Due to Sanju Samson’s injury in the middle of the campaign, the management was forced to use the 14-year-old opening batter, Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

The southpaw, celebrating one century against the Gujarat Titans, finished the tournament with 252 runs in seven innings at an average of 36 and a strike rate of 206.55. His final knock against the Chennai Super Kings in Delhi displayed his maturity in holding one end.

Yashasvi Jaiswal continues his growth with the bat inside the first six overs of the inning. His aggressive batting laid down the platform for the side on many occasions. The left-handed batter ended the group-stage event as the sixth leading run-scorer with 559 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 159.71.

Riyan Parag was decent with the bat, having accumulated 393 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 166.52. Wanindu Hasaranga did well in the middle overs, which is another tick for the Rajasthan Royals.

Rajasthan Royals’ negatives in the IPL 2025

Rajasthan’s Indian bowling hasn’t worked for the tournament. Sandeep Sharma and Tushar Deshpande were not clinical with the ball in various phases of the game. Maheesh Theeskshana was given the job of handling the new ball in the powerplay, but nothing worked.

In case of closing out the games during the IPL 2025, Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer couldn’t contribute with the bat. Both missed the trick of nailing the big shots in the final overs, which put them under immense pressure.

Reading the situation of the game is essential in the shortest format, which the Rajasthan Royals failed to do. They lost half of the season in the auction, where they didn’t pick enough replacements for the foreign players.

That was why they were forced to play Fazalhaq Farooqi and the 19-year-old Kwena Maphaka once Archer lost his position on the team.

Rajasthan Royals IPL 2025 squad rating

The Rajasthan Royals, on the basis of the IPL 2025 squad’s performance, will get 6/10. They have a lot of work to do for the mini auction, where they may leave a few Indian players and look to rebuy them for a cheap price.

Even in the bowling department, they need to find better Indian pacers who can bowl in different phases of the game.
