By the time Ravindra Jadeja finished his 10-over quota during the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Virat Kohli gave him a bear hug. That was a small indication to a few fans of the all-rounder making a potential decision.

In the last few months, Kohli hugged Ravichandran Ashwin and Steve Smith before the camera and both decided to take retirement. Ashwin hung up his shoes from international cricket while Smith felt his time in the 50-overs format was over as he wanted to put more attention to the longest format.

Many predicted that Ravindra Jadeja might follow Rohit Sharma and Kohli in the 50-over format and take retirement just like he did during the last T20 World Cup 2024. He finally quashed the rumors on Monday by dropping a four-word response on Instagram.

Also, India has already got Ravindra Jadeja’s potential replacement in Axar Patel, who has bowled beautifully and holds the capability of batting in the middle order at number five and also is a great fielder. He could take the place once the team looks to go with more pacers in the side.
