The list of players with central contracts will shortly be made public by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The Board of Control for Cricket in India, however, feels that wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has not done enough to secure a central contract for 2024–2025, hence he is not anticipated to be on this list.
Due to their inability to play in domestic cricket matches, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were left off of the central contract list for the previous season. Shreyas returned to domestic cricket and earned a spot in the Indian squad. Kishan hasn't been able to reclaim his position yet, though.
Ishan Kishan Hasn't Played for India Since 2023
Since November 2023, Ishan Kishan has not participated in any sort of Indian competition. He missed the 2023–24 domestic season after returning to India during the South Africa tour. Ishan did, however, play in every format for Jharkhand during the 2024–25 season and was chosen to travel to Australia with the India 'A' team.
Due to travel fatigue, Kishan had to cancel a late-2023 international trip. He then trained for the Indian Premier League in Gujarat with Hardik and Krunal Pandya. Ishan was not given a central contract even though he was a member of India's 2023 World Cup team.

Male players must participate in three Test matches, eight ODIs, or ten T20Is in a calendar year to meet the BCCI's requirements for a central contract. Since Kishan has not participated in any international cricket since late 2023, his chances of securing a contract are slim.
Sports Tak said that although the BCCI thinks Ishan Kishan has worked to address his issues, he hasn't done enough to regain his place on the list of players with central contracts. To get his job back, Kishan still needs to prove himself.
"He still has to wait for his return in the central contracts. He has worked on sorting out issues but has not done enough to get his position back," a source told Sports Tak.
BCCI central contracts earnings
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the captains of India in Test and ODI cricket, are anticipated to keep their A+ central contracts, which are valued at Rs 7 crore.
India's aspirations for Test cricket still heavily rely on Rohit and Kohli. India will go to England to start their World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 campaign once the 2025 Indian Premier League concludes. On June 20, they will begin a five-match Test series.
