Riyan Parag Talks About His ‘Sara Ali Khan hot’ YouTube Search History Controversy

Riyan Parag, the young India player, had found himself in hot waters after his YouTube search history, full of ‘hot Sara Ali Khan’ and ‘Ananya Pandey hot’ mentions went viral after a live session.

Indian all-rounder Riyan Parag recently broke his silence on the controversy surrounding his obscene YouTube search history. The young Indian batsman claimed that someone from a Discord group attempted to set him up, and the scenario was exaggerated following his successful IPL season.

Parag became embroiled in controversy after his YouTube search history was accidentally revealed during a live webcast following the IPL 2024. The story went viral on the internet, with followers denouncing and mocking him for looking for Bollywood actresses Ananya Panday and Sara Ali Khan explicitly.

Riyan Parag reveals someone in his Discord team was behind the gaffe

After months of silence, Riyan Parag responded to the issue around his explicit YouTube search history in an interview with City1016 Radio. He clarified that the issue occurred before the IPL and reappeared after the competition when he began his gaming live streams.

However, following his great IPL season, the event received increased attention. When asked about the viral event, Parag joked, "I am h*tter."

"I finished the IPL, we were in Chennai, finished the match, got on a Discord call with my streaming team, and it got publicized now, but it happened before the IPL. One of the people in my Discord team tried to set me up before the IPL, but that got taken down very quickly. But then after the IPL, the hype was there, and I had a good season," Parag said.

Parag confesses the truth

Riyan Parag said he had no knowledge of the purported explicit searches and that someone had attempted to set him up. He also indicated that the matter had been blown out of proportion and that he did not feel the need to defend himself.

"I came and opened my stream, I didn't have Spotify or Apple Music. Everything was deleted. So I went on YouTube to put on music, and I searched for music. But I didn't know what was happening, but once I did the stream ended, I was like Oh s**t! This happened. It just got blown out of proportion. I didn't think it was good enough a reason for me to go out publicly and clarify everything and no one would understand," he added.

Riyan Parag returns to cricket after injury layoff, fails to get in India’s Champions Trophy team

Parag had an exceptional IPL 2024 season, scoring 573 runs in 14 innings to lead the Rajasthan Royals and finish third overall. He made his international debut in a Twenty20 International against Zimbabwe in July 2024, followed by an ODI against Sri Lanka in August 2024.

He was the first cricketer from Assam and the northeast to get an India cap. However, a shoulder injury forced him to miss India's T20I series against South Africa and England, which resulted in his withdrawal from the Champions Trophy team. He rehabilitated and returned for the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy.

The Rajasthan Royals rewarded him for his breakout IPL season by retaining him for Rs 14 crore. The right-handed batter has played in eight more T20I matches and one ODI for India.
