The former umpire, Anil Chaudhary, has reckoned that the craze and aura of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli will remain at the next level. He reckoned that both the veteran players would be at the top of the world, with no one being around them right now.

Both Kohli and Dhoni are playing the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Chennai Super Kings. The former is enjoying great success in the 18th edition, while the former Indian captain is going through a tough time with the side losing their third successive defeat.

Anil Chaudhary reveals MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli’s aura

The former Indian umpire, Anil Chaudhury, feels that both MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli go through a different level with their craze. Both of them have shouldered the side over the winning line on many past occasions.

“The Craze & Aura of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are the Next Level. For me, These two are at the Top of the World, and there is no one around them right now.” Chaudhary revealed.

Kohli is the leading run-getter of the IPL with 8101 runs in 247 innings at an average of 38.76 and a strike rate of 132, having on eight centuries and 56 half-centuries at his best score of unbeaten 113 runs.

MS Dhoni is sixth on the list with 5319 runs in 233 innings at an average of 39.40 and a strike rate of 137.54, thanks to 24 fifties at the best score of unbeaten 84 runs.

When it comes to their contribution to the Indian side, the Delhi-born is the second leading run-getter across formats with 27599 runs in 617 innings at an average of 52.27 and a strike rate of nearly 80, thanks to 143 fifties and 82 centuries at the best score of unbeaten 254 runs.

MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli’s performance in IPL 2025

Both players’ journeys in the IPL 2025 season are going at a different rate. Kohli started the tournament with a bang, thanks to his unbeaten match-winning half-century against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. But since then, it has been a slight downfall for the veteran.

On the slow and low Chennai surface, Kohli couldn’t time the ball well before getting out. He started with a fine drive for a boundary through the covers against Mohammed Siraj against the Gujarat Titans at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

However, after a couple of dot balls, he found the fielder at the fine-leg region with a mistimed pull shot.

MS Dhoni has received so much speculation around his batting position. Many reckoned that he should have come a bit earlier against Bengaluru, but he decided to come after Ravichandran Ashwin. Even against Delhi Capitals, he didn’t show any intent and ended with a slow 30-run unbeaten knock.

MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli hope to develop their team’s performance

With three successive defeats, Chennai has found itself in the penultimate position among the ten franchises. If they don’t win the next game, then it will be incredibly difficult for the playoff race. MS Dhoni, being the senior-most player, will need to do some magic.

Virat faced their first defeat against Bengaluru in the last game, but they will want to be clinical against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in their future encounter. But the contest won’t be easy with the home side enjoying the return of the premier pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, for the clash.
