SRH Score Joint Fastest 200 In IPL History, Score The 2nd Highest Team Total In IPL History

On Sunday, March 23, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) began their second IPL 2025 encounter at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Pat Cummins leads Sunrisers Hyderabad, while Riyan Parag leads the Rajasthan Royals. The Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to field. Because of his injuries, Sanju Samson will play as an impact player. Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga was left out of the starting lineup for the team headquartered in Jaipur.
SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma immediately dominated the RR bowlers, picking up where they left off in the 2024 Indian Premier League.
SRH batters demolish RR bowlers
From ball one, Abhishek Sharma and Head dominated the RR bowlers. Ten runs were scored in the first over, fourteen in the second, and twenty-one and twenty-three in the third and fifth overs, respectively. In the first six overs, SRH scored 94/1, the fifth-highest powerplay total in IPL history.
Travis Head reached his 50th run in just 21 balls, while Abhishek Sharma smashed 24 off 11 balls. Ishan Kishan kept up the same tempo from the beginning as well. With nine fours and three sixes, Head was dismissed for 67 runs in 31 balls.
SRH reached their 100 runs in only 6.4 overs just as the powerplay overs finished.
However, Ishan Kishan continued the assault and got some support from Nitish Kumar Reddy. Reddy’s stay at the crease was only 15 balls, but he smashed 30 runs with 4 fours and 1 six.
At the time of writing this piece, Ishan Kishan was on 81 runs in 39 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes, while Heinrich Klaasen was just teeing off with 19 off 8 balls.
SRH scores the joint fastest team 200 in IPL
Thanks to their batters’ assault, Sunrisers Hyderabad completed their team 200 in just 14.1 overs. This became the joint fastest team 200 ever in IPL history.
SRH equaled the record for the fastest 200 in IPL with RCB, who achieved the landmark in 14.1 balls also, against Punjab Kings in the IPL 2016. Virat Kohli made 113 in 50 balls in the 15-over-per-side game.
The next three spots are held by SRH as well, with all of those records coming in IPL 2024. They reached 200 against MI in 14.4 overs, slamming 277/6 in 20 overs. Then against DC in the same season, SRH reached the 200-mark in 14.5 overs as they posted 266/7 in 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head had added 131 runs in 6.3 overs.
And to finish the top 5, SRH scored 200 in 15 overs against RCB scoring a record 287/3 as Heinrich Klaasen wreaked havoc with his 31-ball 67 and Head scoring he fourth-fastest IPL ton.
