According to reports, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have reached an agreement about ticket distribution and other operational issues for IPL 2025. During the season, the dispute had been about free passes and ticket allocation for Sunrisers Hyderabad home games.

Tensions with the Hyderabad Cricket Association have prompted SRH to risk moving their home games from the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. In particular, HCA president A. Jagan Mohan Rao's purported pressure tactics, such as ticket demands, alarmed the franchise.

Telangana CM had also gotten involved

The Hyderabad Cricket Association allegedly locked the F3 box. It was claimed that the box remained closed until the demand for 20 additional complimentary tickets was met.

In their home games this season, SRH, the 2016 IPL winners, have had mixed fortunes. They decisively defeated the Rajasthan Royals right away. The Orange army won by a decisive 44 runs after setting a huge 286/6, the second-highest total in IPL history.

In their subsequent encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants, they made 190/9 but lost by five wickets, halting their momentum.

Sunrisers Hyderabad and HCA resolve ticketing issues

An entire box was closed during SRH's home game against the Lucknow Super Giants on March 27 as a result of this ticket distribution controversy. But according to Cricbuzz, SRH and the Hyderabad Cricket Association have now worked out their issues.

Both sides affirmed their agreement in a joint statement. SRH was adamant about adhering to the tri-party arrangement with BCCI and HCA. HCA suggested keeping the current pass distribution in place by the previous procedures.

"SRH proposed strictly adhering to the existing tri-party agreement between SRH, HCA, and BCCI, ensuring that 10% of the available stadium capacity across all sections is allocated accordingly. The HCA, in turn, proposed maintaining the existing allocation of passes in each category, in line with the long-standing practice followed over the years," a joint statement said, as per Cricbuzz.

After the disagreement reached the Telangana Chief Minister, HCA secretary R Devraj held a meeting. The HCA president was accused by SunRisers Hyderabad of applying pressure to obtain more permits and tickets. Kiran, Saravanan, and Rohit Suresh, representatives of SRH, attended the conversation.

SRH and HCA officials decide on new ticket-sharing deal

Both parties decided to stick with the current distribution of 3,900 free passes for HCA, as per prior agreements, following talks and phone calls with SRH CEO Shanmugam.

"With this meeting, we have resolved all our outstanding issues. HCA and SRH remain committed to working together amicably to enhance the spectator experience at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium," the joint statement said.

On Sunday, April 6, SunRisers Hyderabad, captained by Pat Cummins, will play the Gujarat Titans at home. Rain forced them to postpone their 2024 meeting with GT at this location.
