Fans and their love for rain sixes, in any format of the game, have a fairytale bond. While the power hitting has always been a crucial part of the game, modern cricket has evolved to a different level with the top order and part-time batters hitting it out of the ground in the longest format.
From the likes of Chris Gayle to Virender Sehwag, all of them used to nail the big shots even in the Test matches. However, there are a few surprises in the list.
Here are the top 10 cricketers with the most sixes in Test cricket
1. Ben Stokes (England)
The England captain, Ben Stokes, is known for his aggressive batting and approach even in the five-day format of the game. Stokes is at the top with the most sixes (133) in the red-ball format.
The all-rounder has clubbed 6719 runs in 198 innings at an average of 35.55 and a strike rate of nearly 60, thanks to 13 centuries.
2. Brendon McCullum (New Zealand)
The former New Zealand captain, Brendon McCullum, is at number two with 107 sixes in Tests. He ended with 6453 runs in 101 games at an average of 38.64 and a strike rate of 64.60, thanks to 12 centuries and 31 fifties at the best score of 302 runs against India in Wellington.

3. Adam Gilchrist (Australia)
In his era, Adam Gilchrist was a different beast in the longest format and held the record of most Test sixes for a long time. The southpaw has smashed 100 sixes in the red-ball format with 5570 runs in 96 games at an average of 47.60 and a strike rate of 81.65, celebrating 17 centuries.
4. Tim Southee (New Zealand)
The first surprise in the list is the former New Zealand pacer, Tim Southee, who, coming in the lower down the order, would always look to nail the big shots in the longest format. Southee is in the fourth position with 98 sixes.
5. Chris Gayle (West Indies)
A list of six in any format of the game is unfinished without the former West Indies opener, Chris Gayle, who finished his career with 98 runs over boundaries.
The veteran used his power for the big shots and ended with 7214 runs in 103 red-ball clashes at a strike rate of 60.
6. Jacques Kallis (South Africa)
The former South African all-rounder, Jacques Kallis, is in the sixth position with 97-over sixes. But the star performer nailed 13289 runs in 180 innings at an average of 55.37 and a strike rate of 45.97. Despite not being an aggressive batter, he was not shy about smacking the big shots.
7. Virender Sehwag (India)
The former Indian opening batter, Virender Sehwag, is the seventh leading six-hitter in Tests with 91 over boundaries.
Sehwag grabbed 8586 runs in 180 innings at an average of 49.34 and a strike rate of 82.23, thanks to 32 fifties and 23 centuries at the best score of 319 against South Africa.

8. Angelo Mathews (Sri Lanka)
It might be hard to believe, but the former Sri Lankan captain, Angelo Mathews, was excellent with his power hitting, especially against the spinners.
The right-handed batter has smashed 89 sixes in Test cricket to celebrate 8167 runs in 210 innings, thanks to 16 centuries and 45 fifties.
9. Rohit Sharma (West Indies)
The former Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, who retired from the longest format a few days ago, smashed 88 sixes in Test cricket. Rohit has bashed 4301 runs in 116 innings at an average of 40.57 and a strike rate of 57, with 12 centuries.
10. Brian Lara (West Indies)
The former West Indies left-handed batter, Brian Lara, is the last man on the list with 88-over boundaries in Tests. Lara punched 11953 runs in the 232 red-ball innings at an average of 52.88 and a strike rate of 60, thanks to 34 centuries and 48 fifties at the best score of unbeaten 400 runs.
