India and New Zealand will clash in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tournament. This will be played on Sunday, March 9 and the venue will be the Dubai International Cricket Stadium (DICS) in Dubai.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final is about to come to a thrilling conclusion. India and New Zealand, two of the competition's top teams, will compete against one another for the Champions Trophy.

India hopes to win the Champions Trophy for the third time, and for the first time since 2013. India would become the first team in history to win the trophy three times if they win the next match. Both the teams are former champions with New Zealand winning in 2000, India winning in 2002, and 2013.

India playing their 3rd consecutive final

In the previous CT 2025 edition, the Men in Blue had also advanced to the final. However, they lost badly to Pakistan and were unable to defend their title. Team India will be itching to win the next match and make history to atone.

Conversely, New Zealand is aiming for its second CT 2025 championship. Since winning the trophy in 2000, the Black Caps have not prevailed in the competition. They will also be eager to win the forthcoming final and put an end to their protracted wait since it remains their first and last ICC trophy in the limited-overs format.

Umpires and officials announced for ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final

An experienced group of match officials for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final was named by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday, March 6.

Richard Illingworth of England and Paul Reiffel of Australia will serve as the final's on-field umpires. Ranjan Madugalle of Sri Lanka will referee the title decider.

Earlier this week, Reiffel oversaw the semifinal match between South Africa and New Zealand in Lahore. When India and Australia faced off in the other semifinal in Dubai, Illingworth was on the field.

Illingworth also officiated the 2023 ODI World Cup final. India hopes the outcome of the next match will be different after their loss to Australia.
