Given their prior success, it is anticipated that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who withdrew from Twenty20 Internationals following India's 2024 World Cup victory, will retain their A+ contracts.

According to reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to keep all senior players on its central contract list who fall into the A+ category.

Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli have all received A+ ratings in the BCCI's yearly central contract.

Up until last year, all three played frequently in various forms; however, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja stopped playing Twenty20 Internationals. The BCCI is debating whether to keep them in the A+ category.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja to retain Grade A+ contracts

The Hindustan Times said that Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli are probably going to keep their A+ contracts for the 2024–25 season. The BCCI's contract system uses a backdated review procedure, the study further stated.

The 2023–24 central contract list saw Ravindra Jadeja rise to the A+ category. For the 2024–25 cycle, the veteran all-rounder is also anticipated to stay in the top bracket. The report mentioned that T20I retirement will have no bearing on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Shreyas Iyer likely to get BCCI contracts as Selectors to finalize list after reviewing performances

The selection committee will use the performances from October 2023 to September 2024 to finalize the new central contract list. India won the 2024 T20 World Cup, defeated England in the Test series, and placed second in the 2023 ODI World Cup.

According to a BCCI official, negotiations are in progress to move the contract review up by six months. The choices will be based on current results rather than past successes.

“That’s the base of the next round of contracts. There will be a move to advance the next review by six months because there’s so much more that has transpired by the time the review is conducted that people base their judgements on that,” a BCCI official told Hindustan Times.

Based on his performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup, Shreyas Iyer is anticipated to regain his primary contract. His domestic responsibilities caused him to lose out on the 2022–2023 cycle, where he had previously been in the B category.

“He played in the entire domestic season, and that’s all that was expected of him. He also picked up form during these matches that helped him in the Champions Trophy,” the board official said.

Hardik Pandya likely to retain contract; Yashasvi Jaiswal to be promoted

Before being dropped for missing domestic cricket, Ishan Kishan was a regular in all formats. He may now be able to return to his core contract. Mohammed Shami, meanwhile, is probably going to miss out because of his injuries.

Because of his crucial contribution to India's T20 World Cup success, Hardik Pandya may be able to keep his contract. Players are automatically eligible for the ₹1 crore Grade C contract if they have played at least three Test matches, eight ODIs, or ten T20Is.

Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan are set to secure contracts, while Yashasvi Jaiswal could earn a promotion from Grade B.
