India’s former Indian wicket-keeper batter, Robin Uthappa, has lauded the former captain of the side, Virat Kohli’s intensity on the field, but how hard it becomes to face him in the field, thanks to being in the contest all the time, besides facing the bowler.
Kohli is always known for showing aggression in the field as he makes it even harder for the opposition to pay attention to their game.
Robin Uthappa shares experience facing Virat Kohli on the field
Uthappa reckoned that it becomes so annoying to face Virat Kohli in the middle. He felt that one has to always keep an eye on the bowler and also think of discussing with the extra-cover fielder.

“I won’t say daunting as much as I would say annoying. As an opposition, he is always in your face. You always felt like having a battle with the bowler but getting engaged in another battle with the extra-cover fielder.” The former wicket-keeper batter expressed during the recent interaction on Star Sports.
“He is coming at you all the time and throwing the ball whistle past your head. Virat always brings the intensity, and you feel the pressure all the time. That is the ethos of the guys, right.” Uthappa revealed.
But the veteran revealed that Virat Kohli always loves the intensity in the field, and that became a superb inspiration to have as a leader.
“He loves to keep the intensity going and always wants to do that while he is on the field. As a leader, it is a superb inspiration to have on the field. It is because he consistently does this thing, which is not easy at all. And that makes him as successful as he is.” The Bengaluru-born explained.
Virat Kohli is eager to balance ultra aggression and on-field presence
Delhi feels that it always becomes a challenge to balance the two different personas of being a family man on trips and also being ultra-aggressive on the field. His shoulder exchange with the debutant Australian opener, Sam Konstas, has hit the headlines.
“It's naturally kind of getting tapered down again. People are not happy about that either. I don't know what to do, to be honest. Earlier, my aggression was a problem. Now, my calmness is a problem. It's like, I have no idea what needs to be done, and that's why I don't focus on it much.” Virat Kohli spoke about his on-field intensity.
“The kind of person I am, the kind of personality I have, yes, I do have tendencies to kind of go overboard. And I've never shied away from that. But the starting point is, okay, sometimes it might not have gone out with the right intent, but more often than not, the starting point has been of care.” He added.
The veteran also claimed that it’s a wrong thing to believe that competitiveness would come to mind, but there is no requirement of expressing it in the field.

“You can still be aggressive in your mind, but you do not necessarily need to express it out there now and then out of frustration, which I have - I mean, in the recent past as well, which is not a great thing, to be honest, I do not feel great about those things myself.” Virat highlighted.
