Singer Rahul Vaidya has launched a campaign against cricketer Virat Kohli and his “joker” fanbase. This comes in response to Kohli’s clarification after a like appeared from his official Instagram account on a photo of actress Avneet Kaur.

The incident quickly made headlines, prompting the Indian cricketer and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) member to issue a statement.

“I want to clarify that while cleaning up my feed, the algorithm may have accidentally registered a like. It wasn’t intentional at all. I request people not to make baseless assumptions. Thanks for your understanding,” Kohli posted on Instagram.

After Kohli blamed an Instagram algorithm glitch for the unexpected interaction, the online chatter temporarily cooled down.

Rahul Vaidya mocks Virat Kohli and reveals he’s blocked by the cricketer

However, singer Rahul Vaidya reignited the buzz by mocking Kohli’s explanation in a series of Instagram stories referencing the Avneet Kaur post.

“I just want to say that from now on, it’s possible the algorithm might like a lot of pictures I didn’t intend to. So, to any girls involved, please don’t do PR around it. It’s not my fault, it’s Instagram’s fault, okay?” Vaidya said.

Fans unable to comprehend sudden attack

He went on to claim that Kohli had blocked him on Instagram, although the cricketer reportedly suggested that it too might have been a “glitch.”

“So, guys, Virat Kohli has blocked me, as many of you know. I believe that too is an Instagram glitch. Maybe Instagram told Virat, ‘Let me block Rahul Vaidya on your behalf.’ Right?” Vaidya joked.

Rahul Vaidya targets Kohli fans after being trolled for his posts

Following Vaidya’s posts targeting Kohli, the singer and his family faced backlash from RCB and India team supporters. He alleged that Kohli’s fans hurled abuses at him and his loved ones on social media.

In response, he intensified his criticism, labeling Kohli’s fans as “bigger jokers than the cricketer himself” and calling them “2 kaudi ke” (worthless) followers.

“Virat Kohli’s fans are even bigger jokers than Virat himself!” Vaidya said. “Now abusing me is one thing, but dragging my wife and sister, who have nothing to do with this, is disgusting. That proves my point. You Kohli fans are jokers. Jokers worth 2 kaudi,” he added.
