Virat Kohli knowingly ignored the new diktats laid down by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that came into force post the Australia Test tour of 2024-25. India lost the Test series 1-3 and as a result, the board had to issue strict guidelines.
The Indian National Cricket Team has begun full preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. The Indian squad, led by Rohit Sharma, went to the ICC Academy in Dubai for a hard training session ahead of their tournament opener against Bangladesh on February 20.
However, all eyes are now on the highly anticipated weekend match between India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium on February 23. During the team's grueling three-hour workout, an interesting incident involving Virat Kohli drew everyone's attention.

A Times of India report read, “It had had a few boxes of Kohli's post-session meal. While the others packed their kit bags, Kohli was refueling and even saved a box for the road.”
Notably, the BCCI has implemented stringent new rules for the national players in response to the Indian cricket team's dismal showing in Australia. According to one of them, players are no longer permitted to take personal staff members on tours, including chefs, security guards, and assistants, unless the BCCI grants them special permission.
Virat Kohli dominates with the bat in a net session
According to reports, Virat Kohli entered the nets first at the ICC Cricket Academy. Captain Rohit Sharma and ace all-rounder Hardik Pandya followed shortly after. They had a fantastic facility with separate nets for throwdowns, pacers, and spinners, each of which was used for a certain practice.
Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer adopted a more aggressive stance, while Rohit and Kohli concentrated on timing and shot selection to regain their rhythm. The support workers had to remain vigilant while standing close to the practice area because they were smashing deliveries with such intensity.
During the practice session, Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh put up a tough fight against Kohli and Rohit. While Rohit utilized deft footwork to confront yorkers and inswingers, Kohli concentrated on honing his flicks and on-drives against deliveries that were aimed at his pads.
