The entire cricket community was enthralled by a viral post made by the Sydney Sixers, a BBL team. The Sydney Sixers will have star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli for the next two Big Bash League seasons, the team announced on its social media accounts.

Everyone was taken aback by this stunning announcement. Only once he departs from international cricket may Virat Kohli play for the Sydney Sixers or in any other league than the IPL.

Kohli has no plans to participate in the BBL, and the Sydney Sixers' tweet is untrue. On April 1st, the BBL team published an April Fool's joke post. Since Kohli has a sizable global fan base, the post received a lot of attention.

Although he is currently unable to compete in the Big Bash League, Kohli has no plans to retire from international cricket. It should be mentioned that no Indian men's cricket player under the BCCI's contract is permitted to play in the Hundred or any T20 international competition.

To be eligible to play outside leagues, the player must declare his retirement. The players can participate in first-class matches and 50-over events, but they are not permitted to play in the T20 league.

Sydney Sixers, meanwhile, have a stellar record in the league and have won the BBL three times. Their most recent championship victory was during the 2020–21 campaign. They have since failed to win the trophy despite finishing as runners-up twice.
