The former Indian captain has ditched his national players to reveal his favorite travel partner. He reckoned that the former West Indies captain, Viv Richards, would be the best to take a train ride with.
Richards and Kohli have shared a close and mutual relationship over the years. The former came to the dressing room during one of the games in last year’s T20 World Cup when they played one game at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

The renowned batter, during a recent podcast, was asked whom he would take a train ride with the cricketing legend. In reply, the Delhi batter replied with the name of the former West Indies batter, Viv Richards.

Viv, attesting to Kohli's brilliance, had reserved the highest praises for the former Indian leader. He lauded his batting flair and was vocal about the batter’s mindset, which made him an unstoppable force.
“Virat Kohli is a go-getter, and what sets him apart is his mental strength. He will have backed himself throughout, and on the occasions in the past in which I have chatted with him and we have discussed things, his mental strength has always been evident.” The former batter expressed.
“Virat will have been through some tough times before this World Cup, and some folks were even brave enough to call for his head.” The Richards added.
The Caribbean batting star shed light on how Kohli overcame things from times when he had struggled since the 2019 season.
"I am a huge fan of Virat Kohli, I have been for a long time, and he continues to show why he has to go down as one of the all-time greats, right up there with the likes of the great Sachin.” Richards praised Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli’s IPL 2025 record for RCB
Virat Kohli finished the last season as the leading run-getter with 741 runs in 15 innings at an average of 61.75 and a strike rate of 154.69, scoring five half-centuries and one century at the best score of unbeaten 113 runs.
This year, he is currently the second-highest run-getter of the event with 392 runs in nine innings at an average of 65.33 and a strike rate of 144.11, celebrating five fifties with the best score of an unbeaten 73 runs.
The Delhi batter is the leading run-getter of the Indian Premier League with 8396 runs in 253 innings at an average of around 40 and a strike rate of 132.49, thanks to eight centuries and 60 half-centuries at the best score of unbeaten 113 runs.

“Many people have made comparisons between the two of us over the years, partly because of our shared intensity on the field. I love Virat's enthusiasm. Even if he is fielding at long-on or long-off when one of his bowlers hits the pad, he is appealing. He is always in the game, and I like individuals like that.” Richards explained.
RCB and Virat Kohli aim to win the maiden IPL 2025 trophy
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) started the season with full dominance, earning three wins in four encounters. They have won all five of their away fixtures so far this year.
But they faced so much trouble at home with three successive defeats before gaining their first victory at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium against the Rajasthan Royals. They will now travel at the Arun Jaitley Stadium for the next fixture against the Delhi Capitals.
