Former India opener Virender Sehwag was subjected to a game on Cricbuzz where he had to choose players for the different scenarios in the Indian Premier League. Questions varied from chasing runs to defending runs and much more.
The first question Sehwag was asked was who he’d pick if 15 runs were there to be chased in the super over.
Virender Sehwag confidently chose Virat Kohli and Nicholas Pooran, stating that he needed someone who could remain not out and also hit sixes to chase those runs.
The second scenario given to Sehwag was who he’d pick if the team was 23/4 in 5 overs and had to chase 200 runs in a must-win game.
Virender Sehwag stated that there was a need for him to be batting in that scenario, but since he had retired, he’d instead pick KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran to do the job.
Virender Sehwag picks bowlers who could take quick wickets in powerplays while defending 135
The next question asked Virender Sehwag to pick bowlers who could take quick wickets in the powerplay overs while defending 135 runs. To this, Sehwag picked Mohammed Siraj on current form and RR’s Jofra Archer.
Furthermore, Sehwag was asked who he’d pick if there were 75 runs needed to be chased in the last 5 overs. The former India captain chose KKR’s Rinku Singh and PBKS’s sensational batter Shashank Singh.
The last question asked of Virender Sehwag was whom he would pick if there were 30 runs to defend in the last two overs. Sehwag picked Jasprit Bumrah for sure, and his second choice was RCB’s Yash Dayal.

Virender Sehwag hails Abhishek Sharma's spectacular shots
With his recent record-breaking 141-run haul in Hyderabad, Abhishek Sharma's outstanding strokes against PBKS were praised by Sehwag.
Sehwag claimed that Abhishek elevated the game, stating that the SRH opener's knock was not only large but also clean, fearless, and full of vicious sixes in all directions. Abhishek, in his opinion, was too strong for the PBKS.
Abhishek's ability to hammer sixes from cover drives to deep mid-wicket against the Punjab Kings left the former Indian opener speechless. In the ongoing IPL 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad pulled out a comeback triumph after dropping four straight games.
“The way Abhishek Sharma batted today was of the next level. We compare Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. But the number of balls that Travis Head took to make fifty; today, Abhishek made more than a hundred in those balls.
So, he batted amazingly; he hit shots in all directions. He deals mostly in the sixes. The shots that he hit on the covers, on the point, on the flake, or in front, those were spectacular shots,” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.
