During an interview with West Indian fast bowler Alzarri Joseph, Pakistani anchor Zainab Abbas made a comical mistake. In the current IPL 2025, the right-arm bowler is playing for Peshawar Zalmi.

The incident happened on Sunday, April 27, following the Quetta Gladiators vs. Peshawar Zalmi game. Alzarri Joseph was interviewed by Zainab Abbas following the conclusion of the Quetta Gladiators' innings.

With outstanding statistics of 3 for 33 off 4 overs at the end of the innings, the West Indies star had a strong showing with the ball.

Zalmi's first breakthrough of the match came when Alzarri Joseph took out the dangerous Finn Allen for 31. He then sent back Faheem Ashraf after dismissing a well-set Kusal Mendis for 32.

Alzarri Joseph asked by Zainab Abbas how he’ll dismiss Saim Ayub; he reminds her they are teammates

Coming to the interview, Zainab Abbas hilariously asked Alzarri Joseph about dismissing Saim Ayub as she forgot that both players are teammates.

"Do you have any specific plan for somebody like Saim Ayub, you got the all-important wicket against him. He has sort of struggled in the PSL, but he's always a crucial wicket because he can sort of take the game away," said Zainab Abbas. *

Joseph was taken aback by the question and responded by saying, "Excuse me, who's that?"

While Zainab Abbas had the opportunity to correct the mistake, she fumbled again and said, "Saim Ayub."

In reply, Joseph reminded the anchor that Ayub is his teammate: "That's my teammate."

Zainab finally realised her mistake and said: "I'm saying, sorry, what I'm trying to ask is that you know, you've been facing him in the net."

Regarding the match, Zalmi was crushed by the Gladiators by 64 runs, meaning that Joseph's efforts were in vain. In the allocated 20 overs, the Gladiators, who batted first, scored 178/7. Three Gladiators batsmen reached the 30-run mark, but none of them were able to reach the fifty-run barrier.

The Zalmi were all out for just 114 runs in response. Other than Hussain Talat (39), no batsman was able to score more than 20 runs. Faheem Ashraf took five wickets for the Gladiators.
