India wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel spoke extensively on MS Dhoni’s ‘Desi Mamba’ mentality and how if he could achieve 1% of the same, he would be grateful. Dhruv Jurel has been named in the India A and India Test squads for the England tour.

Jurel has been one of the hottest young cricketing stars in India ever since he impressed a lot with his excellent keeping and aggressive batting for India in the England Test series at home last year. He has played 4 Tests, scoring 202 runs with a best of 90. He has also played 4 T20Is, with only 12 runs to his name.

He has been successful in IPL, making 680 runs in 42 matches for Rajasthan Royals with 4 fifties and a strike rate of 153.84.

Recently, Dhruv Jurel appeared on Ranveer Allahabadia's podcast, and the two discussed MS Dhoni and his influence on Jurel during his formative years in cricket.

When asked about who had ‘desi mamba’ mentality in the Indian team, Jurel stated MS Dhoni’s name.

“I think Mahi bhai, the position in which he used to bat, I will bat in that position too, because you don't know that you are going, there are three-four overs left, you can take time to hit the ball, keep the strike rate good. The team needs a goal, he has done it and has done it again and again, that's why he is great, he has done it so much, if I can save 1% of him, then I will be very grateful,” Jurel stated.

MS Dhoni’s future in CSK and potential retirement after IPL 2025 debacle

Even though the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are having difficulties and there is a lot of talk regarding his retirement, legendary cricketer MS Dhoni has shown no signs of resigning. A Times of India story claims that MS Dhoni's incredible career in the lucrative league will continue after the 2025 IPL season.

The Chennai Super Kings are certain that Dhoni will play after the 2025 Indian Premier League season. Though many in the camp think he still has unresolved issues with the team, the 43-year-old has stated that he will decide his future in a few months.

Before leaving, Dhoni wants to assist in filling important holes in the team, the report also stated. His presence is said to be essential for guiding younger players and stabilizing the team. Dhoni is unlikely to resume leadership duties. Ruturaj Gaikwad is expected to take over as captain after recovering from his elbow injury.
