The fielding coach of the national side, T Dilip, praised the awareness and presence of the game in a pressurized knockout fixture as he reckoned that the top-notch fielding effort of the players held the pressure on the Australians for a long time.

“(In a) Knockout game, it demands presence and awareness, and it demands a fielding unit to not only react but also to make things happen. That’s exactly what we did today. The way he cut the angles in the infields and made sure that no second run would be easy on the outfield, that’s a prove of top-notch fielding effort, which is a combination of skill and also will.” Dilip expressed in the dressing room.

The former Indian head coach, Ravi Shastri, made a surprising entry into the dressing room for the program and handed Shreyas Iyer the fielding medal. Iyer’s direct hit dismissed Alex Carey in the last five overs, and that cut 15 runs in the opponent's total to make a huge difference in the result.
