Former Pakistani cricketers Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Akhtar discussed and insulted Hardik Pandya, rating him lower than a former Pakistani all-rounder. This came after Hardik Pandya starred as India won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tournament in Dubai.

Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Hafeez made their remarks following Hardik Pandya's crucial contribution to India's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 championship win. The all-rounder came through for the squad at pivotal moments and was spot-on with both bat and ball.

Hardik Pandya was India's mainstay throughout the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. As the team's second pacer in the previous three games, the all-rounder was handed more responsibility when the management decided to use four spinners: Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Varun Chakravarthy, and Kuldeep Yadav.

Mohammad Hafeez made a daring declaration after Hardik Pandya had another outstanding campaign. He claimed that despite being at the top of his game, the all-rounder was still not superior to Abdul Razzaq, who was better than him.

"This version of Hardik gives me the indication that the talent I saw in Razzaq Bhai, I think he was better than him,” Hafeez said on a Pakistan TV show.

During the conversation, Shoaib Akhtar brought up the fact that Abdul Razzaq was forced to play a variety of batting positions. He was also ready to joke that he was not appreciated.

“Sir, we made him open, we made him play in the middle order, we made him play in the lower order, we made him play in the death order, we did everything for him. What's the point? Let me ask both of them. We never respected him,” Akhtar said.
