KL Rahul, Delhi Capitals (DC) batter-keeper, was seen in an intense war of words with the BCCI vice president, Rajeev Shukla, after his team’s recent IPL 2025 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). This game was played on April 29 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

DC falters in the chase despite a decent start from the top order

Delhi took early hits in chasing 205, with Karun Nair caught leg before wicket for 15 and Abishek Porel falling for 4. Delhi, who were at 60/3, were under even more strain after KL Rahul's run-out. With a 76-run partnership for the fourth wicket, Du Plessis and Axar attempted to recover. By the fourteenth over, the Delhi Capitals appeared to be in charge at 136/3.

But Sunil Narine's spell changed the outcome of the contest. He removed Faf du Plessis (62 off 45) after dismissing Axar Patel (43 off 23) and Tristan Stubbs (1) in one over. Even though Vipraj Nigam made a late appearance (38 off 19), the squad was unable to win. For 39 runs, Varun Chakaravarthy claimed two wickets.
