Ravichandran Ashwin and MS Dhoni were seen batting together during the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp ahead of the IPL 2025 season and Ravichandran Ashwin was seen giving MS Dhoni some batting tips in the middle.

All of the teams have begun preparing at their team camps for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season. On social media, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) supporters were drawn to a video featuring former captain MS Dhoni and all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin.

IPL 2025 to kick off on March 22

After being released by the Rajasthan Royals (RR), who decided not to keep him in the auction, Ravichandran Ashwin has returned to the Chennai Super Kings ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League season.

The team made significant investments to lure the seasoned spin-bowling all-rounder back, and in the 2025 mega auction, they were able to secure him for ₹9.75 crores.

Ravichandran Ashwin reunites with MS Dhoni in CSK

Ravichandran Ashwin played for the Super Kings from 2009 till 2015 when he started his IPL career. With 180 wickets at an average of 29.82 and an economy rate of 7.12 in 212 IPL games, the seasoned off-spinner has demonstrated his extensive experience. The 38-year-old just announced his retirement from cricket.

Ahead of the IPL 2025 big auction, the five-time IPL champions kept MS Dhoni as an uncapped player. A team may keep an Indian cricket player who has earned a cap as uncapped under the new retention regulations if the player hasn't participated in international matches or held a central contract within the previous five years.

The Chennai Super Kings acquired Ravichandran Ashwin with a high bid at the super auction last December, bringing him back to the team after a ten-year absence.

A CSK supporter posted a video of Ravichandran Ashwin and MS Dhoni batting together on the social networking platform X, which was formerly known as Twitter. The video, which showed Ravichandran Ashwin giving MS Dhoni batting advice, went viral on the internet right away.

From 2009 to 2015, Ravichandran Ashwin participated in 97 games with the Super Kings. With his best bowling numbers for CSK being 3/16, the off-spinner has claimed 90 wickets at an economy rate of 6.46 and an average of 24.22.
