MS Dhoni lost his “Captain Cool” tag at pacer Khaleel Ahmed during the recent IPL 2025 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on May 3. This match was played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and saw the home side win by 2 runs in a narrow encounter.

In the 19th over of the first innings, Khaleel was hammered for four huge sixes and two boundaries by the hard-hitting RCB batsman Romario Shepherd. The CSK pacer made matters worse by bowling a no-ball in the same over, which allowed Khaleel to steal 33 runs.

Khaleel became one of the unwelcome record books alongside Parwinder Awana with this horrifying performance. In a previous match against CSK, Awana had also let up 33 runs in a single over when playing for Kings XI Punjab.

However, P. Parameswaran, who allowed 37 runs in one over for Kochi Tuskers Kerala against RCB, continues to hold the record for the costliest over in IPL history.

Khaleel concluded with the iconic figures of 65/0 in his three overs, making him the most costly bowler for CSK during their heartbreaking two-run defeat to RCB in Bengaluru.

During RCB's innings, bowler Khaleel Ahmed's field placement clearly irritated Dhoni. A widely shared video showed Dhoni challenging Khaleel's on-field judgment, underscoring the team's strain.
