Navjot Singh Sidhu recently took a huge dig at MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu during his commentary stint on Star Sports. This incident happened during the Punjab Kings (PBKS) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) IPL 2025 encounter on April 8.

Since the beginning of the current IPL 2025, Ambati Rayudu has been widely active on social media because of his intense affection for MS Dhoni. Ambati Rayudu hasn't hesitated to defend the former India captain despite the fact that his performance this season has drawn harsh criticism and taunting.

Dhoni made an outstanding cameo and batted at number five during the PBKS vs. CSK game, but he was unable to lead his team home. After pursuing 220 runs, CSK ultimately lost the match by 18 runs. Despite scoring 27 runs off of just 12 balls, Dhoni did not receive much assistance from the opposition.

Ambati Rayudu was once again the topic of town shortly after the game concluded, primarily because of an exchange he had with fellow pundit Navjot Singh Sidhu. It all started when Rayudu subtly mocked Sidhu's loyalty by accusing him of switching teams.

Never one to back down, Navjot Singh Sidhu responded angrily, saying to Rayudu, "If a chameleon is someone's revered deity, then it is yours."

Fans quickly deduced that the former India batsman was referring to Rayudu's adored deity and MS Dhoni as a chameleon, even though Sidhu did not identify anyone in his remark.

Ambati Rayudu’s spat with Sanjay Bangar over Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma

Ambati Rayudu and Sanjay Bangar, another analyst, got into a heated argument earlier this season. Rayudu's defense of CSK and Dhoni was the cause of the argument. When the ESPNcricinfo panel was debating the Mumbai Indians' choice to utilize former captain Rohit Sharma as an Impact Substitute, it all started.

Bangar criticized the decision, claiming that the team was suffering from Rohit's absence from the field. According to the former all-rounder for India, Rohit's leadership on the field would have had an impact. Hardik Pandya should be left alone as captain, Rayudu swiftly retorted in response to Bangar's remarks.

"I don’t think Hardik needs input. A captain needs to be left alone. "Dhoni was not at his ears all the time. Same for Rohit. Then why should Hardik have 10 people at his ears? Rayudu said.

Bangar was not at all impressed with Rayudu's comments and hit back by saying, "For you, it was different because you never led an IPL team. But here is a guy who has led the team to multiple IPL titles."
