Punjab Kings (PBKS) batter Nehal Wadhera, who played a huge role in his team’s recent win in the IPL 2025 match over Royal Challengers Bengaluru, revealed receiving vile comments and abuse on Instagram by RCB fans. PBKS defeated RCB in Bengaluru on April 18 in a rain-shortened game.

Rain led to a long disruption before the game even began in Bengaluru. Ultimately, when the rain stopped, only 14 overs a side game was possible. Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose that PBKS would chase.

RCB batters stuck on the Bangalore surface

RCB batters tried to go hard at the ball from the first ball onwards and kept losing wickets consistently. Rajat Patidar made 23 runs, while Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma, and Krunal Pandya all fell for single-digit scores.

However, it was Tim David who slammed a brilliant 50* to take RCB to a respectable 95/9 in 20 overs. For RCB, four bowlers, Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Harpreet Brar, took 2 wickets each.

Nehal Wadhera helps PBKS chase down tricky target

Punjab Kings (PBKS) lost 4 wickets for 53 runs while chasing the target. But with his 33-run effort, middle-order batsman Nehal Wadhera ensured PBKS crossed the finish line. Priyansh Arya (16), Prabhsimran Singh (13), Shreyas Iyer (7), and Josh Inglis (17) tried to get on with the game and failed.

Nehal slammed two sixes and one four in an over against Suyash Sharma to lessen the pressure, and his 3 fours and 3 sixes to take RCB home.

However, RCB supporters disparaged the Punjabi left-hander following his outstanding batting display. A video that has gone viral on social media captured Nehal Wadhera's response.

“Gaali bak rahe hai voh, buri buri gaali bak rahe hai yaar wo comment main (They are using abusive words in comments)” was the response of Harpreet Brar, who was seated next to Nehal Wadhera when he read the comments on his Instagram story.
