A funny but bizarre incident took place during the recent encounter of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 between the Multan Sultans and the Lahore Qalandars at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday evening.

At the center of the chaos was the young pacer Ubaid Shah, who, besides turning the game on its head with a fantastic spell, caught attention for punching his teammate, Usman Khan, during the game.

The video of the incident from the PSL 2025 has gone viral on various social media platforms.

The incident happened on the final delivery of the 15th over when Ubaid went with a hard length delivery on the off-stump at Sam Billings, the wicket-keeper batter. It rose off the surface and cracked the batter on his head, who, looking to pull the ball away, got a top edge into the bat.

The man at the covers grabbed an easy catch. But the pacer was extremely happy to get the wicket in the over after the England batter nailed him for two sixes at the start of the over.

Overcome with adrenaline and excitement, Ubaid spun around and leaped in triumph to accidentally slap the batter on the head with an open palm. The latter was rushing to the pacer to congratulate him.

Usman Khan was wearing a cap and not a helmet due to keeping wickets against the pacer. He looked at him in serious pain and momentarily dazed, prompting immediate concern from the home camp. Fortunately, the quick medical check-up confirmed that he could continue, and his reassuring thumbs-up soon put everyone at ease.

The video of the PSL incident caused by the burning fire on social media quickly became one of the most interesting topics of the tournament.

Ubaid Shah and Usman Khan’s performance in the PSL game vs Lahore Qalandars

After a solid opening partnership of 89 runs in the eighth over, it was vital for the number three batter to continue the same momentum. Usman Khan didn’t disappoint in that situation.

The right-handed batter drilled 32 runs in 17 balls, shouldering on five boundaries and one six at a strike rate of 162.50. It was a 70-run partnership in 38 deliveries for the second wicket between Usman and Yasir Khan, who ended with 87 runs in 44 deliveries at a strike rate of nearly 200.

Ubaid picked up a wicket on the last ball of the opening over. The dangerous-looking Fakhar Zaman heaved into the leg-side and got the height rather than distance as the ball went up in the air. Joshua Little grabbed a fine catch at the deep square leg region.
