Jadeja made hints that some Indian cricket players might be purchasing likes and followers on social media, which sparked discussion among cricket fans.

During the IPL 2025 season, Ravindra Jadeja made comments against public relations tactics. Many players seem to be using digital platforms to increase their exposure and popularity through the smart use of social media, frequent brand endorsements, and well-managed public personas.

Ravindra Jadeja Slams PR Culture in Indian Cricket

Ravindra Jadeja made fun of the increasing PR culture's influence on Indian cricket while speaking on Ravichandran Ashwin's YouTube channel. His comments generated online rumors about well-known players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer without identifying anyone.

According to Jadeja, athletes need to gain respect in the team setting. He noted that a large portion of social media interaction may be purchased, even though some of it is sincere.

"It's okay for the relentless comments that are posted. I strongly believe that a player should earn respect in the dressing room. Your social media profile and engagement don't matter at all if you can't gain the respect of your teammates. Some are organic, some are bought — and the trend nowadays is to buy the engagement," Jadeja said.

Ravindra Jadeja’s record in IPL 2025 for CSK

During the IPL 2025 season, Jadeja was a member of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which was captained by MS Dhoni. The 36-year-old and Dhoni have a lengthy history together. Under him, Jadeja made his debut for his country in every format and was instrumental in Team India's victory in the 2013 Champions Trophy.

Jadeja joined CSK in 2012, when Dhoni was at the top of his game as captain. They contributed to the team winning IPL championships in 2018, 2021, and 2023.

However, CSK's 2025 season campaign was a letdown, as they only won four of their 14 games, placing them at the bottom of the league. Jadeja, who took 10 wickets and scored 301 runs, also had a lackluster individual season.
