The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain, Rishabh Pant, was seen not being satisfied with something during the recent contest against the Delhi Capitals at the Ekhana Stadium. He had an animated chat with their mentor and the former Indian pacer, Zaheer Khan, in the dressing room.
It was quite a surprising evening for the home side, where their leader walked out to bat at number seven on the last two balls of the first innings. He missed the first ball and was dismissed on the second and last ball of the allotted 20 overs as they put an underwhelming score of 159 on the board.
Watch: Rishabh Pant blows off at Zaheer Khan with an animated chat
Rishabh Pant had an animated chat with the mentor, Zaheer Khan, moments after getting dismissed. His first outburst at Zaheer came in the 19th over when he was all padded up and waiting for his batting.

Pant seemingly was unhappy with the combination. His form could be one of the reasons for the management to drop him from the order. In eight innings this year, the southpaw has clubbed only 106 runs at an average of 13.25 and a strike rate of 96.36 at a best score of 63.
“That is one idea why we are impacting Ayush, to get Mayank some game time, just trying to find ways to get him early in the season, because it's already halfway around. He came from NCA now, just trying to fit him in.” Rishabh Pant revealed at the end of the game the decision to send Badoni earlier.

LSG struggles with Rishabh Pant’s entry point
When Nicholas Pooran went back to the dressing room in the 12th over of the inning, many expected Rishabh Pant to walk into the middle. The home side was struggling at 99/2. But Abdul Samad, who came to the crease, didn’t support the logic of the right and left combination.
Samad and Mitchell Marsh got out in the next over by Mukesh Kumar. That was another chance for the former Delhi batter to make his entry in the middle. But there was no sign of the wicket-keeper batter in the middle.
Instead, the management sent David Miller and Ayush Badoni. The former was not in his great rhythm this year and managed an unbeaten knock for a strike rate of around 100. Badoni batted well for his 36 runs in 21 balls, at a strike rate of six boundaries at 171.43.
Finally, when Rishabh Pant walked into the middle at number seven, he only had two balls left. He charged down the track to Mukhesh Kumar and slogged without contact with the ball. On the last ball of the innings, the pacer came up with a full delivery as Pant reverse lapped it into the stumps.

The southpaw was so angry with the entire situation that he was fuming while walking back to the dressing room.
Anil Kumble is unhappy with Rishabh Pant’s frustration at Zaheer Khan
The former Indian captain, Anil Kumble, reckoned that Rishabh Pant should have channeled the frustration into his performance rather than reacting like that.
“You have to make peace in these situations. He is the captain. He has to take it positively. Whatever frustration or anger he has, he should translate that into positive performance.” The former leg-spinner addressed Star Sports.
With the defeat, Lucknow stays in the fifth position with five wins in nine clashes at a net run rate of -0.054.
