Because his courageous decisions led to a successful outcome, Parag's leadership was equally noteworthy. Jofra Archer chose to hand the last two overs to Tushar Deshpande and Sandeep Sharma, even though he had one over left.
The Rajasthan Royals finally recorded their first victory of the season in the season's final game at Guwahati. After losing their opening two games of the season, RR made a big impression by defeating CSK handily in this encounter.

Following the game, there was some controversy around Parag. A video that was broadcast live on television showed Riyan Parag snapping a selfie with the Guwahati IPL crew.
Instead of gently passing the cell phone to the team after taking the selfie, he hurled it back to them. Fortunately, the equipment was unharmed, but the incident caught one of the crew members off guard.
After Parag's actions were exposed on social media, his supporters viciously criticized him for being conceited toward them. Nonetheless, he can be seen signing a groundskeeper's autograph in the same video.

Nitish Rana's aggressive hit of 81 off just 36 balls helped the Rajasthan Royals, who batted first, reach 182-9 in 20 overs. Batting at No. 3, Rana faced the CSK spinners and displayed class. During his knock, he hit five sixes and ten fours.
The remaining batters in the lower order were unable to contribute significantly, however, captain Riyan Parag did contribute with a vital 37 off 28 balls. CSK's Noor Ahmad, Khaleel Ahmed, and Matheesha Pathirana each claimed two wickets.
When Jofra Archer hit Rachin Ravindra for a duck in the reply, Chennai was shaken early. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain, however, retained one end and continued to store the bad balls.
However, he had no help from the other end. Dube appeared ready for a big knock, but his time at the crease was cut short by Parag's outstanding catch. After a magnificent 63 off 44 balls, Gaikwad was ultimately removed by Hasaranga.
CSK missed the goal by 6 runs, while Jadeja and Dhoni had 45 runs to chase off the last three overs. After winning their opening game of the season, they suffered their second straight defeat.
