Rohit Sharma, India captain, and Gautam Gambhir, Indian team head coach have seemingly put aside their differences as they were seen in a funny conversation at the team hotel in Nagpur. This was before the first ODI between India and England got underway at the VCA Stadium on February 6, 2025.

During the Indian cricket team's tour of Australia last month, captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir had some disagreements.

Rohit's poor batting form prevented him from playing the series' fifth and final Test in Sydney; nonetheless, the match was preceded by substantial dressing room turmoil, with various stories indicating that all was not well between the skipper and his coach.

India lost the five-Test series 3-1, and many of the country's international talents, including Rohit and batting mainstay Virat Kohli, have since competed in India's best red-ball tournament, the Ranji Trophy.

Rohit returns to the Indian team later on Thursday when the team faces England in the first ODI of the series in Nagpur. Ahead of the match, a video has gone viral on social media in which the skipper and coach Gambhir appear to have put their issues behind them.

A video of the couple entering the team hotel shows them laughing and seemingly cracking jokes. Fans circulated the video extensively, insinuating that Rohit and Gambhir are back on good terms.

Focus on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s performances in England ODIs

India's Champions Trophy preparations conclude with a three-match ODI series against England, but all eyes will be on the form and fitness of their experienced players.

Skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, two of India's most recognized white-ball batsmen, have come under fire after a disastrous red-ball season.

During the 2023 World Cup, Rohit and Kohli were India's batting cornerstones, scoring 765 and 597 runs, respectively, to lead the tournament. Despite their supremacy, India stumbled in the final, letting a faultless campaign fall at the last hurdle.

Since then, they have had little experience with the format, appearing in only three matches against Sri Lanka, when Rohit scored two half-centuries and Kohli struggled for consistency.

Meanwhile, England captain Jos Buttler won the toss in the first ODI in Nagpur and chose to bat first. India gave ODI debuts to opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and pacer Harshit Rana, as Virat Kohli sat out due to a knee injury.
