Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) player Tim David was seen mocking Delhi Capitals (DC) batter KL Rahul’s ‘my ground’ celebration in front of DC’s Faf du Plessis. This happened after DC defeated RCB by 6 wickets, thanks to Rahul’s 93* at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in the IPL 2025 match on April 10.

When the Delhi Capitals played the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, KL Rahul's ferocious "my ground" celebration captivated many fans and commentators.

The local youngster, who scored a game-winning 93* off 53 balls to lead Delhi to their fourth consecutive victory, celebrated with a ferocious pounding of his chest and a smashed bat to shout, "This is my ground."

The fans were drawn to the post-match festivities even if the innings itself was a masterclass in poised aggressiveness and composure under duress. KL Rahul was released by the Royal Challengers after appearing in their setup twice, in 2013 and 2016. After spending four seasons with the Punjab Kings, he led the Lucknow Super Giants for three years.

Rahul's season with LSG ended in 2024 when the club missed the playoffs, and a highly publicized altercation with franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka after a crushing loss to SRH caused a social media uproar.

Chasing 163, DC was reduced to 58/4. However, KL Rahul got assistance from Tristan Stubbs (38*), as the two of them put together a 111-run partnership to steal the match from Bengaluru. He smashed 7 fours and 6 sixes in his knock as Rahul made 93* to take RCB to a famous 6-wicket win.

He celebrated the same by circling the ground and stomping his bat, gesturing that it was his home ground. He also said it out loud that Bengaluru was his home ground.

Tim David mocks KL Rahul’s bat celebration in front of Faf du Plessis

The fans were drawn to the post-match festivities even if the innings itself was a masterclass in poised aggressiveness and composure under duress. Even the players started talking about Rahul's celebration after Tim David, a batsman for Australia and the RCB, was spotted imitating Rahul in a conversation with DC's Faf du Plessis.

Rahul's moment of fire, which was obviously felt beyond the boundary rope, was the topic of conversation between the two.
