Taking lessons from the past incident, the Multan Sultans’ wicketkeeper batter, Usman Khan, ran away from their pacer, Ubaid Shah, just after they picked up the opening wicket of Sahibzada Farhan on the fourth ball of the third over against the Islamabad United.

It was the very next day when the pacer punched the wicketkeeper batter on his pace while celebrating a wicket. Usman Khan needed to undergo medical attention and treatment after the incident. And he was quick to keep that in mind.

On the fourth ball of the third over, Ubaid banged a short ball at Farhan, who was standing on his front foot from the start. From the leg side, he swung across the line and got a faint top edge as Usman Khan, the wicket-keeper, grabbed an easy catch.

As soon as the on-field umpire raised his finger to confirm the dismissal, Khan jokingly began running away from Ubaid while asking him to stay away. Later, they were seen sharing a high-five and hugging each other during the team huddle.

The root of the story was from 24 hours ago. On the final delivery of the 15th over, Ubaid went with a hard length delivery on the off-stump at Sam Billings. It rose off the surface and hurried the batter with the pace. He looked to pull it away but ended up getting a top edge as the fielder grabbed a comfortable catch.

Overcome with excitement and adrenaline, Ubaid leaped in triumph to accidentally slap the wicketkeeper on the head with an open palm. Usman Khan, who was rushing to the pacer to congratulate them, was not wearing a cap, and he received a blow to his head.

The quick medical check-up confirmed there was no major issue. He gave a thumbs-up to everyone.

Unlike the previous game, Multan didn’t get a good start in the batting, with 51 runs on the board in the seventh over. Mohammad Rizwan, the captain, kept playing dot balls as the pressure rose too much. The wicket-keeper batter, Usman Khan, however, had other plans.

He smacked 61 runs in 40 balls at a strike rate of 152.60, thanks to four boundaries and as many sixes. The Karachi-born slog-swept Mohammad Nawaz over the deep mid-wicket region for a six before clubbing the opponent captain, Shadab Khan, over long-off for the same result.

He used his feet to hammer Imad Wasim in the mid-wicket region for another six, besides lofting Shadab over long-off. Usman Khan was the main star behind shouldering the struggling team to the 165+ run mark in their allotted 20 overs.
