Even though his cricket career is coming to an end, India's top player, Virat Kohli, is still committed to playing well for the team. He recently shared his plans for the next ODI World Cup as well as his thoughts on his future in international cricket.
Even though he has accomplished nearly everything in his career, Virat Kohli is still focused on leading India to victory in the 2027 ODI World Cup. Since he currently has no plans to retire, his comment is a relief to his admirers.
Kohli has been a legend of the game
In his international career to date, Kohli has won two Champions Trophy championships (2013 and 2025), an ODI World Cup (2011), and a T20 World Cup (2024). He narrowly missed winning the ODI World Cup 2023 as India, who dominated the domestic tournament, lost to Australia in the final.
With 765 runs in 11 games at an average of 95.62 and a strike rate of 90.31, Kohli became the tournament's top scorer. Throughout the competition, he hit three hundreds and six fifties, demonstrating his degree of consistency.
He was unable to raise the trophy, so his desire remains unfulfilled. The 36-year-old veteran is, therefore, motivated and resolute enough to play until the 2027 World Cup.
