Virat Kohli was angered when Yash Dayal and Jitesh Sharma made a hash of a catch during the recent IPL 2025 match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) that took place at Wankhede Stadium on Monday, April 7.

The incident involved MI batter Suryakumar Yadav, who was not in form. During his time at the crease in the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he appeared incredibly scratchy.

Due to a miscommunication by Jitesh Sharma and Yash Dayal, the middle-order batsman was able to receive a reprieve during his innings despite struggling with timing.

Yash Dayal and Jitesh Sharma collide and drop Suryakumar Yadav’s catch

Yash Dayal tricked Suryakumar Yadav with a slower back-of-the-hand delivery on the third ball of the 12th over. It appeared to be an easy catch as the Mumbai Indians hitter attempted a heave across the line, but instead got a big top edge that popped up in the air.

Jitesh Sharma, the batsman-keeper, gave the signal and ran in the direction of the ball. On the other hand, Yash Dayal straightened himself and shifted slightly to his right, eyeing the ball. The pacer grabbed it with both hands, but Jitesh charged in at the same moment, and they collided.

The bowler lost control of the ball, and it fell as a result of a huge collision between Jitesh Sharma and Yash Dayal. As Suryakumar Yadav was given life, Dayal's hands touched Jitesh Sharma's face.

Although it was evidently Jitesh Sharma's call, Suryakumar Yadav was saved due to a major misunderstanding caused by Yash Dayal's lack of information. Many were drawn to Virat Kohli's response, as the veteran batsman became enraged and hurled his cap in disgust.

During the IPL 2014, Dravid was the coach of the Rajasthan Royals team. After Rajasthan was eliminated from the domestic cricket's biggest spectacle, the IPL, Dravid displayed his fiery personality on television screens by hurling his headgear in an unusual way.

At the time, Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians (MI) had somehow qualified for the playoffs thanks to the heroics of Aditya Tare in a thrilling last match against the Rajasthan Royals.
