Virat Kohli was seen teasing Rishabh Pant after the team photo as India won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. India defeated New Zealand in the final on March 9, Sunday, by 4 wickets and won the tournament without losing a single match.
Virat Kohli's Champions Trophy campaign was outstanding. In the final versus New Zealand, he was out for just one run. With a strike rate of 82.88 and an average of 54.50 runs across five games, the batter finished the tournament with 218 runs, including a century and a half-century.
To lead India to the finals, Kohli played two vital knocks: an undefeated 100 against Pakistan and an 84 against Australia.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, which starts on March 22, will be the 36-year-old's next game. In the season opener at Eden Gardens, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will play the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

When the Indian cricket team was lining up for a group shot during the trophy ceremony, Virat Kohli snatched up a bottle of champagne and doused Rishabh Pant with it. This move by the former India captain stunned the rookie wicketkeeper.
To further enhance the pleasure, Harshit Rana also participated. On social media, a video of the incident has gone viral.

Notably, the 36-year-old batsman won his fourth ICC championship while playing for the Indian national side. He had won the Champions Trophy in 2013, the 2024 T20 World Cup, and the 2011 ODI World Cup.

They wanted to win the trophy after a dismal Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, Kohli said after the game. According to Kohli, the team had a fantastic tournament and players performed admirably under duress.
“It's been amazing, we wanted to bounce back after the tough Australia tour, we wanted to win. Feels good to be part of such young talent, we're happy to help and try to make an impact whenever there's a chance.
These are the things, you look forward to situation under pressure. Teams stepped up in different situations, and everyone have put up a hand at different times, such as impactful knocks, and spells. Only collective effort can win you titles. We've had a great time as a team, and was an amazing tournament," Kohli said.
