Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batsman Virat Kohli was dissatisfied with skipper Rajat Patidar's on-field actions during the final over of the IPL 2025 match against the Delhi Capitals (DC). The former captain had an intense debate with coach Dinesh Karthik near the boundary line, which sparked conjecture.
Bengaluru lost their second consecutive home defeat in the IPL 2025 on Thursday, April 10. The visiting squad, captained by Axar Patel, convincingly chased down a target of 164 with more than two overs remaining. KL Rahul scored an unbroken 93 runs to lead Delhi to victory.
RCB had batted first after DC captain Axar Patel won the toss. Phil Salt (37), Virat Kohli (22), Rajat Patidar (25), and Tim David (37*) all contributed to their 163/7 total in 20 overs.
Rahul and Stubbs bail out Delhi Capitals
The Delhi Capitals were struggling at 58/4 after nine overs. However, they gained traction after forming a team with KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs. Rahul led the chase with a brilliant unbroken 93 off 53 balls, which included seven boundaries and six maximums.
Tristan Stubbs scored 38* off 23 deliveries as they pursued a 164-run target. Axar Patel led Delhi to their fourth consecutive triumph. They are presently ranked second in the rankings, with eight points and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of +1.278.

Virat Kohli angrily discusses Rajat Patidar’s captaincy with Dinesh Karthik near the boundary
Virat Kohli wasn't happy with how the game played out in the final few overs. During Suyash Sharma's 15th over of the Delhi Capitals' innings, Kohli and Dinesh Karthik had a heated and impassioned conversation at the boundary line.
Kohli was seen pointing to the RCB batting coach, perhaps to express his disapproval of captain Rajat Patidar's field arrangements or the way the bowlers were giving up runs. For those who are unaware, the conversation between Karthik and Kohli took place just after Josh Hazlewood let up 22 runs in the 15th over.

It should be noted that Virat Kohli's pathetic expression was captured on camera as he complained that the bowling wasn't happening according to the field and plans after Josh Hazlewood gave up 22 runs in the 15th over. Liam Livingstone's addition to the bowling attack allowed the Delhi Capitals to regain the lead.
RCB has six points from five games, which puts them in third place in the standings. At Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the team will next play the Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.
