At the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur, Manjrekar was in the commentary box for the Punjab vs. Rajasthan match. According to him, the player with the highest IPL run total also has the highest strike rate on the leaderboard.
“The batsmen who are scoring the most runs, their strike rate is also very good nowadays”, Manjrekar said during the match.
On social media, fans shared the video, and some Kohli supporters attacked Manjrekar for purposefully making fun of him.
Because Kohli won the Orange cap twice, supporters took Manjrekar's remark that players with the most runs these days also have a superior strike-rate offensively. Kohli is maintaining his strike rate at about 143 in the IPL 2025.
