Yashasvi Jaiswal became the subject of the ire of Sandeep Sharma after he hit the experienced pacer on the shoulder with his throw during the second IPL 2025 match between SRH and RR.

The second IPL 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) got underway at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday, March 23.

The Rajasthan Royals are led by Riyan Parag, and Sunrisers Hyderabad is led by Pat Cummins. After winning the toss, the Rajasthan Royals chose to field. Sanju Samson will play as an impact player due to injury. The starting lineup for the Jaipur-based team did not include Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga.

SRH hammers 5th highest powerplay score in IPL history

Starting where they left off in the 2024 Indian Premier League, SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma hammered the RR bowlers right away.

Abhishek Sharma and Head hammered the RR bowlers from ball one. The first over went for 10 runs, the second for 14 runs, while the third and fifth went for 21 and 23 runs respectively. SRH posted 94/1 in the first six overs, the fifth-highest powerplay score in IPL history.

Abhishek Sharma hammered 24 from 11 balls, while Travis Head made his 50 in 21 balls only. Ishan Kishan also continued with the same tempo from the start. Head got out for 67 runs in 31 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes to his name.

During the match, a very interesting thing happened. On the penultimate ball of the 7^th over, Travis Head bludgeoned the ball toward the long off where Yashasvi Jaiswal fielded the ball and threw it back at the full force.

Unfortunately for him, Sandeep Sharma was not looking at the fielder and instead had collided with the batter and having a chat with him while walking back to his mark.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s throw came straight down Sandeep Sharma’s throat, narrowly missing it and hit him on the collarbone of his left shoulder. Sandeep was startled by the sudden hit and angrily muttered something while staring daggers at Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Jaiswal already knew he had messed up and had his hands up in sorry towards Sandeep and was sheepishly mouthing apologies towards the RR pacer.
