The 2025 season of the International Masters League (ILM) ended on Sunday (March 16) when Sachin Tendulkar-led India Masters lifted the maiden edition of the title against the West Indies Masters by six wickets in the all-important clash in Raipur. But Yuvraj Singh was involved in a heated argument in the contest.
Tempers flared during the vital fixture as Yuvraj Singh clashed with the West Indies pacer, Tino Best, in the middle, the duo exchanged a few words before the captain, Brian Lara, stepped in to separate the two veterans.

Things got pretty intense in the middle, as the West Indies Masters’ captain tried his best to maintain calmness between Best and Yuvraj Singh. Even India Masters’ opening batter, Ambati Rayudu, urged the pacer to keep calmness in the middle.

It all started after the pacer completed his over and wanted to go off the field due to the potential injury concern. The World Cup-winning all-rounder raised the issue to the respective umpires, as Billy Bowden asked the Caribbean pacer to come back to the middle.
That didn’t impress the West Indies speedster at all, as he charged towards Yuvraj Singh. When Tino got in the face of the Punjab-born, the latter didn’t back down. The duo exchanged some words and showed, so signs of backing down.
“He (Tino Best) is someone who doesn't back down and he is someone who likes to have a chat. Two players who don't back down. That's when you get an issue.” The former England pacer, Darren Gough, who was on commentary, expressed.
Soon after, Yuvraj Singh took the strike and smashed a massive six as he pointed the bat at Tino. The scene reminded one of the famous incident when he had a verbal argument with Andre Flintoff before nailing the England pacer, Stuart Broad, for six over boundaries in an over. But both the all-rounder and pacer patch up during the second strategic time-out, as the former gave a pat on Best’s back.
India Masters restricted West Indies Masters to 148/7
Winning the toss, the West Indies Master decided to bat first as Dwayne Smith clubbed a fine opening knock of 45 runs in just 35 deliveries at a strike rate of 128.57. Lendl Simmons also drilled 57 runs in just 41 deliveries at a strike rate of nearly 140 to end their innings on 148/7 in their 20 allotted overs.
Vinay Kumar picked up three crucial wickets in the powerplay for 26 runs in three overs, while Shahbaz Nadeem also celebrated two wickets in the contest for 12 runs in four overs. Irfan Pathan didn’t have a great time with the ball, being belted for 47 runs in four overs without any wickets.
