“We Would…”- ICC Sends Stern Message To PCB After Being Accused Of CT 2025 Presentation Ceremony Snub

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has received praise from the International Cricket Council (ICC) for organizing the Champions Trophy 2025 so well. Notably, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) was also recognized by the International Cricket Council for hosting five games, including the championship game in Dubai.

The period of play for the Champions Trophy was February 19–March 9. Pakistan held a world event for the first time since 1996. The tournament featured 15 matches, with India playing all of them in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

The Champions Trophy 2025 was successfully held by the Pakistan Cricket Board, according to ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice.

"They should be proud of their contributions, including stadium renovations. We would like to thank and congratulate the Pakistan Cricket Board for successfully hosting the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025.

As this was the first global multi-team cricket event played in the country since 1996, this event was of huge significance for the PCB, and all those involved in renovating the stadiums, preparing the playing surfaces, delivering the matches and hosting the teams and visitors should be very proud of their efforts," Allardice said as per ICC release.

The Emirates Cricket Board hosted five matches that India played in Dubai, which was appreciated by Geoff Allardice. In addition, Allardice congratulated India for winning their third Champions Trophy championship in an unforgettable final and complimented the eight competing teams for their contributions to an interesting event.

"The ICC would also like to thank the Emirates Cricket Board for staging five of the matches in Dubai and continuing to provide great support to the ICC in staging its major men's and women's events. The tournament once again showed the importance of ICC events as fans all over the world watched and followed it with great enthusiasm either at the venues or on satellite and digital channels.

Thanks to the eight participating teams for making it such a compelling event, and congratulations to India for winning a third Champions Trophy title in a memorable final," Allardice stated.

India played Champions Trophy in Hybrid Model

India declined to visit the host country, Pakistan, citing security concerns, therefore the ICC decided to utilize a hybrid approach for the 2025 Champions Trophy instead. Dubai hosted all of India's games, including the knockout stages.

India made the most of their all-star team and the benefit of playing at one location. In the final at the Dubai International Stadium, they defeated New Zealand by four wickets to win their third Champions Trophy.
