It has finally been revealed that actor-dancer Dhanashree Verma and India legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal are no longer together. The Bombay High Court upheld the ruling, and Chahal's attorney disclosed the specifics.
After removing each other's photos from their social media accounts, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma were said to be divorcing, and they had been on the edge of splitting up for a few days.
On February 5, 2024, they filed for divorce by mutual consent. The agreed settlement was the reason the family court had previously refused to lift the cooling-off period. However, because Chahal would be preoccupied with his IPL responsibilities starting on March 21, the court has consented to conclude the divorce.
Yuzvendra Chahal-Dhanashree Verma divorce confirmed; INR 4.75 alimony finalized
In December 2020, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma were married. Dhanashree also cheered on her husband during the IPL matches, and the two of them exchanged selfies.
But as time went on, the celebrity couple's situation didn't improve. Chahal isn't enjoying himself in his career as much as he is in his personal life. The Indian squad does not currently have a legspinner in any format.
Alimony also finalized
The High Court observed that Chahal and Verma had been apart for about two and a half years and that the alimony payment criteria that were agreed upon during mediation had been adhered to.
Citing only partial compliance with the consent criteria that forced Chahal to pay Dhanashree Rs 4.75 crore, the family court declined to waive the cooling-off period.
The family court concluded that he had paid Rs 2.37 crore. It also emphasized the findings of a marriage counselor's report, which indicated that mediation efforts were only partially followed.
However, because the terms stipulated that the second tranche of permanent alimony would only be paid when the divorce order was received, the top court decided on Wednesday that the agreed provisions were adhered to.
