The Gujarat Titans (GT) have been the most consistent franchise in their all-around performance during IPL 2025. They are currently at the top of the points table with nine victories in 12 group-stage encounters at a net run rate of +0.795.
Gujarat, after their defeat in the opening fixture of the competition against the Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium, earned four successive defeats. Since then, in the next seven group clashes, they fell short of the goal only twice against the Rajasthan Royals and the Lucknow Super Giants.
For GT, the biggest advantage is the opening partnership between Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill, both of whom have gone beyond the 600-run mark. At number three, the wicket-keeper, Jos Buttler, has provided them stability in the batting department.
In case of the bowling department, most of their Indian pacers have contributed with the wickets. Prasidh Krishna has bowled the hard length deliveries to earn the rewards, while a few have used their pace to trouble the batters.
Meanwhile, Rashid Khan struggled in the spin bowling department with the lack of wickets in the middle phase of the tournament. A few of their players are experienced and old and could retire after the end of the IPL 2025.
Here are the three GT players who will retire after IPL 2025
1. Ishant Sharma
The experienced Indian fast bowler, Ishant Sharma, is already 36 years old. In 179 innings of the format, the right-arm fast bowler has picked up 155 wickets at an average of 31.79 and a strike rate of 24 with an economy rate of just under eight, thanks to the best bowling figure of 5/12 in an innings.

For the IPL, the GT pacer has claimed 96 scalps in 117 innings at an average of 35.17 and an economy rate of 8.37. However, in this season, he has bagged four wickets in seven innings at an economy rate of 11.18.
In a few games of the edition, the GT bowler looked tired under the heat, and the age factor could come into the equation for him to take retirement.
2. Jayant Yadav
Jayant Yadav is another spinner who hasn’t gained success in the shortest format. In 83 innings, the off-spinner has picked up 52 wickets at an average of 32.63 and an economy rate of just over six, thanks to the best bowling figure of 4/22 in an innings.
His IPL record has also been poor. In 20 innings of the GT spinner, he has earned eight wickets at an average of 55.62 and an economy rate of 6.84. However, these 20 innings have come across the seven seasons of the event.
All of these factors could work against Jayant, who may think of retiring from the format after the end of the league. Most teams have not shown their interest in the bowler in the past, and that could lead the bowler to make a retirement decision.

3. Rahul Tewatia
The spin all-rounder from the GT side, Rahul Tewatia, hasn’t contributed much with either the bat or ball in hand. In 92 innings, he has picked up 69 wickets at an economy rate of 7.40, besides smashing 2075 runs at a strike rate of 144.49.
GT is using him in the lower order, and that’s helping the spinner to add value to the side, which would hardly bring him in contention for the national side in the future. That may lead him to retire from the format after this IPL 2025.
