After IPL 2020, the ongoing IPL 2025 season has been devastating for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). They are currently at the bottom of the points table with just three victories in 14 group-stage clashes at a net run rate of -1.030.

Even a victory won’t take them over the Rajasthan Royals (RR) after the last group-stage fixture against the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. The Yellow Army, as their head coach Stephen Fleming addressed, is fitting to finish with the wooden spoon at the table.

Chennai Super Kings started the competition with a victory over the Mumbai Indians, at home- the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Since then, they faced five defeats in the group-stage encounter before earning a win over the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekhana Stadium.

However, the victory was not enough for the Chennai Super Kings to get back into the tournament. Another string of four defeats was enough to eliminate the Whistle Podu side from the table. Their recent loss against the Rajasthan Royals was another proof of how much they struggled in the event.

Surprisingly, CSK opted for a few young players as the injury replacements, and they could serve them well in the upcoming seasons of the event.

Here are the three Indian players from Chennai Super Kings who can make their International debut after the IPL 2025

1. Ayush Mhatre

It was an unexpected turning point in Ayush Mhatre’s career in the IPL 2025. Just before the auction, he nailed a few good scores on the board, but none of the franchises showed any interest in the youngster.

But life changed when the Chennai Super Kings called the right-handed, aggressive batter for a session after their regular leader, Ruturaj Gaikwad, was ruled out of the season due to injury. After an impressive performance, the franchise got him into the lineup.

Later, Mhatre showed how he could challenge the world with a huge knock. In just six innings, the 17-year-old smashed 206 runs at an average of 32.33 and a strike rate of 187.27, thanks to the 94-run knock against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. That’s the first six T20s he has been part of.

2. Anshul Kamboj

The right-arm fast bowler, Anshul Kamboj, is another Chennai Super Kings player who has done well in this season’s IPL 2025. He is a pacer who has been consistent with the length and speeds of the delivery, making it hard for the batters to smash him inside the first six overs of the innings.

Kamboj also got the chance to bowl three overs in a row during the powerplay by MS Dhoni, the leader. Meanwhile, his performances have been phenomenal.

In 29 T20 innings, he has earned 31 wickets at an average of 21.80 and an economy rate of 8.06. Out of these, in 10 innings, he has picked up seven wickets at an economy rate of just under 10.

3. Urvil Patel

The Gujarat-born wicket-keeper batter, Urvil Patel, is another Chennai Super Kings batter who came as a replacement. Patel, on his very first game of the IPL for the franchise against the Kolkata Knight Riders, drilled 31 runs in 11 balls.

In the overall T20s, the Chennai Super Kings batter has notched up 1193 runs in 49 innings at a strike rate of 171.65, thanks to four half-centuries and two centuries at the best score of unbeaten 115 runs.
