Devon Conway might be included in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) XI, as the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led franchise has failed to live up to their hype in the IPL 2025 tournament.

The failure of two openers, Rachin Ravindra and Rahul Tripathi, has seemingly led CSK to rethink their strategy after their losses to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Early in the season, the Chennai Super Kings are under pressure since there are rumors that they might finish last this year.

In the IPL 2025 10-team points standings, the team is presently ranked ninth. They have a Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.771 and have only won one of their first three games.

After a sluggish start to the IPL 2025 season, CSK might think about altering their starting lineup. Some players have appeared to be in poor form.

On April 5, they will play the Delhi Capitals (DC) at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium. The match's bench strength may be tested by the management.

Devon Conway to return to CSK XI after warming the bench in IPL 2025

Devon Conway, who was acquired at the IPL 2025 mega-auction for ₹6.25 crore, is someone they would like to bring back.

Conway's strong IPL performance with CSK speaks for itself. In 22 innings, he has amassed 924 runs with a respectable strike rate of 141.28 and an average of over 49.

Conway could open for CSK

Conway might be paired with Rachin Ravindra, who is also from New Zealand. At the top of the order, the pair may offer aggression and solidity. As in the past games, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad will bat at number three.

The Chennai-based team shared a video of Devon Conway playing eight-ball pool prior to their game versus the Delhi Capitals. Amid difficulties, the Super Kings may be implying that Conway might make a comeback to the starting lineup.

In previous seasons, the Super Kings had consistently enjoyed success with the right-left starting combination of Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad. But this year, the team decided to switch up that combo, and thus far, it hasn't produced the expected outcomes.

CSK Set to Take On Delhi Capitals in Their Fourth Match

The Chennai Super Kings defeated the Mumbai Indians by four wickets to start the season. They've had trouble keeping up that form, though. They lost by 50 runs to Royal Challengers Bengaluru and then by six runs against Rajasthan Royals, dropping them to sixth place in the rankings.

On Saturday, April 5, CSK will play the Delhi Capitals, who are currently playing well, in Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium. After two games, the team captained by Axar Patel is still undefeated. In the forthcoming game in Chepauk, Ruturaj Gaikwad and his team will be looking to turn things around in front of their home crowd.
