TNPL 2025 Auction Picks UAE Hat-trick Hero; Low Price For This Indian Off-spinner

The 2025 season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) will again provide the domestic players of Tamil Nadu an opportunity to showcase their strength in bowling and batting in the shortest format to keep themselves ahead for the IPL and national team selection.

With Ravichandran Ashwin taking international retirement for the blue brigade during the third Test of the five-match series in the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 at the Gabba in Brisbane, he can feature in the entire TNPL 2025 for defending champions, Dindigul Dragons.

Ashwin, the captain of the side, was the fifth-highest run-getter of the edition, thanks to 252 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 151.80.

Vijay Shankar was among the major buys of the 2025 mega auction, held in Chennai on Saturday (February 15). He started the bidding war with at least four of the eight sides raising paddles for his all-round skills. The Chepauk Super Gillies finally signed him for INR 18 lakh.
