Vaibhav Suryavanshi's explosive century in the current Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) has been praised by West Indies icon Brian Lara and India great Sachin Tendulkar.

At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday, April 28, Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history by scoring a century off 35 balls for the Rajasthan Royals against the Gujarat Titans.

Suryavanshi storm hits GT

Gujarat Titans, who batted first, amassed a massive 209/4 in the 20 overs that were given to them. With 84 runs off 50 balls, captain Shubman Gill once again led his team from the front.

However, as the Titans reached a total of more than 200, seasoned batsman Jos Buttler hit 50 off just 26 balls.

The odds were firmly stacked against the Royals, but Vaibhav Suryavanshi came down on GT bowlers like a storm. He slammed 11 sixes and 7 fours in his 38-ball 101-run knock. Suryavanshi also shared a 166-run stand with his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal, who made 70* and led RR to a 6-wicket win.

Legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar was overwhelmed by the way Suryavanshi played despite being only 14 years old. He took to X and lauded the youngster’s gameplay and also talked about Suryavanshi's technique that helped him play the iconic innings.

"Vaibhav’s fearless approach, bat speed, picking the length early, and transferring the energy behind the ball was the recipe behind a fabulous innings. End result: 101 runs off 38 balls. Well played!!" he posted on X.

Brian Lara has now joined the chorus of cricket fans who have been praising Vaibhav Suryavanshi for his knock. The former West Indies skipper praised the innings on Instagram shortly after the Rajasthan Royals opener reached his century.

For those unaware, upon his ODI retirement during the 2007 World Cup, Brian Lara famously spoke the words "Did I entertain?"

He shared a clip of himself watching the innings on TV and wrote his iconic words, posting, "Did I entertain? You surely entertained me!!!"
