Violent Clashes Erupt Between Government Officials In RCB v CSK Match

Another skirmish was taking on in the stands in the RCB v CSK 52^nd match of the ongoing IPL 2025 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The incident happened inside the Chinnaswamy Stadium's Diamond Box. A public altercation between the families of two senior IRS and IPS government officials swiftly developed from a disagreement over seats in a VIP box during the RCB v CSK match

The families of a top IPS officer and an income tax commissioner got into a fight at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Both parties filed complaints at the Cubbon Park police station, thus, the altercation continued even after the RCB v CSK game was over.

A story in India Today claims that the family of the IPS officer accused the family of outraging modesty, sexual harassment, and intimidation. However, the family of the income tax commissioner has refuted the claims.

"But what’s more shocking is it all took place in the complimentary hospitality box at Chinnaswamy Stadium as several senior government officials watched without intervening," a senior cop was quoted as saying by News 18.

The senior police official continued by recounting the entire scenario. He claimed that while watching the RCB v CSK game with his brother, the daughter of the IPS officer left her purse on the seat to use the restroom.

Government officials are involved in a clash over a seat

The altercation started when she noticed a man sitting in her seat after using the restroom at Chinnaswamy Stadium.

"When the brother told him to vacate as his sister was all set to return, the man did not budge, and an argument broke out between the two. Soon, the sister joined her brother while the man was joined by his wife, the income tax official, and their son."

"The argument intensified with each hurling abuse at the other. At one point, the confrontation between the IPS officer’s daughter and the man almost went out of control as the man was arguing in her face," the cop said.

Police file complaints

The sister and her brother made the decision to call their parents because things were becoming out of hand. While she made the decision to go to the Cubbon Park police station and file a report, the wife of the IPS officer instructed her children to leave the stadium.

The man in issue and his spouse were called to the police station following the filing of the complaint. After a few hours, they were given permission to leave the police station.
