Digvesh Rathi, the mystery spinner for the Lucknow Super Giants, has been creating news in the ongoing IPL 2025 with his spectacular performances and his unusual notebook celebrations. Despite being in his first season, Digvesh Rathi is already well-known for his notebook celebration.

Rathi recently shared the details of his unique celebration and the wager he made with Priyansh Arya.
Digvesh Rathi's unusual jubilation following the dismissal of Punjab Kings batsman Priyansh Arya garnered media attention.
Following his dismissal of his close buddy Arya, Rathi was observed writing something on the ground. This incident has since been one of the most talked-about celebrations, arousing fans' interest.

Speaking about the same, Rathi disclosed that it was merely pleasant banter between two close friends and that there was no aggressive intent or heated exchange. The mystery spinner just put Priyansh's name in his notepad, so the celebration wasn't a message or an insult.
As the two placed a wager against one another over their celebration, the LSG bowler claimed that it was merely a lighthearted reference to his pledge.
“Nothing, sir. Priyansh is a good friend of mine. I didn't say anything to him. We were just talking to each other. He said that if I hit him, I'll do this. I told him that if I get you out, I'll do this. Nothing, sir. I didn't write anything. It was just his name. I wrote his name in my notebook,” Rathi told Vikrant Gupta in an interview.

The BCCI's decision caused a great deal of controversy among cricket analysts and former players, and the LSG spinner was fined twice for celebrating with his notebook. Rathi, however, noted that the rules are rules and took the sanctions with composure.
The 25-year-old bowler further said, “Those are the rules. We cannot go against the rules made by the BCCI. So, according to that, I will have to follow those rules.”
Rathi is still a rookie
Notably, Digvesh Rathi had only played 11 Twenty20 matches and claimed 12 wickets prior to making his IPL debut, yet he was still able to attract the interest of the Lucknow Super Giants. At the IPL 2025 mega auction, they paid INR 30 lakhs for the leg-spinner, and he is currently making the most of every cent.
In the nine games he has played for the LSG this season, he has taken nine wickets at an economy rate of 7.27 and an average of 29.11.
