Shreyas Iyer was seen with a high attitude after he refused to let BCCI President Roger Binny put the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 winners’ blazer on him during the presentation ceremony. The netizens took heavy interest when Iyer put on the blazer by himself.

Team India had an exciting Champions Trophy 2025, with notable performances from top players including Varun Chakravarthy, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma.

But Shreyas Iyer was a player who quietly but reliably performed when it counted most. With 243 runs at an average of 48 at the end of the tournament, he was India's highest run scorer and the team's unsung hero.

Shreyas Iyer, the silent performer for the Indian team

Iyer was a dependable middle-order batsman who provided consistency in pivotal moments, but players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma took center stage. His performances, which frequently saved the team from difficult situations, were the foundation of India's campaign.

Shreyas Iyer played five matches and scored 243 runs at an average of 48, putting on an outstanding tournament performance. Additionally, he made two significant contributions in the fifties, demonstrating his reliable and important presence on the team.

India defeated New Zealand and won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title in Dubai, thanks in large part to Shreyas Iyer's key 48-run effort. In the Champions Trophy 2025 final, India struggled at 122/3 against New Zealand.

Iyer took over and scored a key 48 runs, joining Axar Patel in a crucial 61-run partnership. His innings laid the groundwork for India's pursuit, which finally resulted in their victory.

As is customary for every Champions Trophy, the players were given their recognizable white jackets following the game, and the BCCI chief assisted each player in donning them.

Roger Binny attempted to do the same with Shreyas Iyer, though, who grabbed his jacket and left after rejoining his teammates, wearing it.

Here is the video:

This is mainly because Iyer was removed from the BCCI Central Contracts in 2023 because of disciplinary issues and inquiries regarding his back injury. Despite setbacks, Iyer proved his worth by performing at the highest level. His return to form was a testament to his resilience and determination.
